Royalty Free Blues Rock Music
Since Blues Rock music encompasses almost every blues style that
uses amplification, it is too broad to be distinguished by
national, regional or stylistic characteristics. Soul blues,
blues rock, and R&B blues all incorporate electric guitar
and bass as primary instruments, yet they are individually
distinctive styles.
Blues rock music is best described as a musical fusion of styles,
which combines elements of the blues with rock and roll. While
rock and blues have always been closely linked historically,
it wasn't until the late 1960's that blues-rock could be identified
as a musical genre. The genre was originally a British
phenomenon,
with blues artists like Alexis
Korner and John
Mayall's Bluesbreakers acting as a training ground for
the future stars of the genre, and it didn't take long for
the music to spread back to the home of the Blues in America,
and around the world.
Blues-rock was characterized by bluesy improvisation and
long instrumental jams. In the early 1970's American blues
rock music grew to include other genres such as Southern rock
and hard rock bands like the Allman
Brothers Band, Stevie
Ray Vaughan, Fabulous
Thunderbirds and ZZ
Top. On the other side of the Atlantic the British scene
moved in a different direction and got heavier with artists
such as Deep
Purple, and eventually evolved into Heavy Metal. Our comprehensive
